Terms of Service

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Welcome to CardVault (“CardVault,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a trading card scanning, cataloging, and valuation service available at mycardvault.app (the “Service”). CardVault is operated by Dan, an individual, not a registered business entity. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use CardVault

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and use the Service. By using CardVault, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You sign in to CardVault using Google OAuth. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure, since access to it grants access to your CardVault account. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@mycardvault.app. Deleting your account will remove your collection data per our Privacy Policy.

3. What CardVault does

CardVault lets you photograph trading cards, uses AI-assisted image analysis to identify card details (player, year, set, etc.), looks up recent sale prices for comparable cards, and helps you track your collection's value over time and generate marketplace listing descriptions.

Important limitations you should understand:

  • Card identification and valuation are estimates, not guarantees. CardVault uses AI models and third-party sales data to identify cards and suggest values. These results can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. Always verify card details and pricing independently before making decisions to buy, sell, trade, or insure based on information from the Service.
  • We are not a grading service. CardVault does not grade cards. Any condition assessments are estimates for your own reference and carry no authority comparable to professional grading services like PSA, BGS, SGC, or CGC.
  • Sale price data comes from third parties (currently eBay completed listings via a third-party data provider) and reflects historical sales, not guaranteed future value.

4. Subscription plans and billing

CardVault offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers with higher monthly scan limits. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, our payment processor.

  • Billing cycle: Your subscription renews automatically each month on the date you originally subscribed, until you cancel.
  • No refunds: Payments are non-refundable. When you subscribe or upgrade, you're billed for the full month and have access to that tier's features for the entire month, regardless of how much you use the Service.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel anytime through your account's subscription management page. If you cancel, you keep access to your paid tier's features through the end of the current billing period you already paid for — you will not be billed again, but we don't provide partial refunds for the unused portion of a cancelled period.
  • Plan changes: You can switch between paid tiers at any time. Switching plans may result in a prorated charge or credit, handled automatically through Stripe.
  • Failed payments: If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry according to its standard retry schedule. Your paid access continues during this retry period. If all retries fail, your account will be downgraded to the free tier.
  • Price changes: We may change subscription prices in the future. If we do, we'll provide notice before the change takes effect for existing subscribers.

We use Stripe to process all payments. We do not directly receive, store, or have access to your full payment card details — Stripe handles that. See Stripe's own terms and privacy policy for how they handle your payment information.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the card images you upload and the collection data you create. By uploading images, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content back to you as part of operating the Service (for example, sending your images to our AI provider for analysis, or displaying them in your collection view).

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload any images you submit. Don't upload images that infringe someone else's copyright or that you don't have the right to use.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service's infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to scrape, bulk-extract, or abuse the Service in a way not intended for normal individual use
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our permission
  • Use the Service to generate misleading marketplace listings (for example, knowingly describing a card's condition or authenticity falsely)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Third-party services

CardVault relies on third-party services to operate, including:

  • Supabase for our database, authentication, and file storage
  • Vercel for hosting
  • Anthropic for AI-powered card analysis
  • RapidAPI / third-party data providers for sale price lookups
  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Google for sign-in (OAuth)

Your use of CardVault is also subject to the availability and proper functioning of these services. We aren't responsible for outages, errors, or data issues caused by these third parties, though we'll do our best to work around them.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that card identifications, valuations, or sale price data will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CardVault and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or collection value, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including decisions you make to buy, sell, or trade cards based on information from the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Because CardVault is operated by an individual and not a registered business entity, you understand that any claims against “CardVault” are effectively claims against the individual operator, based in Arizona, subject to the limitations in this section and applicable law.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll provide notice (for example, via email or an in-app notice) before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
